Our story
Named for the hush of the estate
The name speaks to hemlock shade and cove-quiet rooms: a house that keeps its voice low. We opened as a hospitality address first, with gaming as a considered evening room rather than a spectacle.
Birmingham’s industrial character is present in the materials — stone, smoked oak, brass — while the service follows the older manners of a private residence.

Architecture and interiors
Heritage, without costume
The interiors borrow from Midlands manor houses and the city’s workshops: panelled warmth, generous windows, and rooms that feel assembled rather than themed. Art Deco geometry appears as a line, a lamp, a brass edge — never as pastiche.

How the house holds you
Arrival is handled at a modest desk. Bags move without procession. Rooms are restored while you are out; the lounge is introduced only when you ask, and only to guests who meet the house rules.
